Book Reviews with a new Brew every time.

  • Disclaimer: I try not to give away too many spoilers or specifics, but overall this is a summary of the book and what I liked most about it. Some details are included.

Broken Soul is the third and final book in the Deviant Souls MC series and it might have been my favorite. Diesel is a former military turned mechanic and MC enforcer. He not only thinks he doesn’t deserve love, but that he would drag someone into his darkness. However, when he meets Odette, all of that changes. Sure, he still doesn’t think he deserves her, but he’s also not willing to give her up. I loved how gentle and calm he was with her immediately. He knew she had been through something traumatic and he automatically adjusted his approach.

Odette has grown up in a terrible atmosphere and felt weak and worthless. Getting the courage to pick up and leave with no destination in mind or plan in place was extremely brave. She shows how strong and nurturing she is when she is able to comfort Diesel and calm his mind.

There were quite a few spicy scenes in this short book, but I’m not complaining. I think my favorite though was the moment they shared their first kiss after Diesel’s nightmare. He let her in and the walls started coming down for both of them, it was very sweet and intimate.

I really enjoyed this series and the way each MC brother developed throughout their stories. Each heroine was strong and held her own in this foreign MC world. Each story had an element of action and suspense to add to the depth of the story. I enjoyed how it developed and progressed through each story coming to an end in this last book with the help of a mafia enforcer setting up another series by Cameron Hart 😊

Next up will be a series by another favorite author, Kat Baxter, that I think you will equally enjoy so stay tuned!

Favorite Quote: “I love you, Odette. I love you in a way I’m only just starting to comprehend. We might not know everything about each other yet, but we know the things that matter. I feel you in my soul, princess. You can’t get rid of me now.” – Diesel

BREW: Well it’s November, so Starbucks has released holiday cups and drinks! I tried the Sugar Cookie Latte last year for the first time and loved both the iced and hot versions. It was a chilly day, so I opted for the hot latte and it hit the spot. It tastes like a warm sugar cookie right out of the oven, yum!

  • Book 2 of Deviant Souls MC Series

Disclaimer: I try not to give away too many spoilers or specifics, but overall this is a summary of the book and what I liked most about it. Some details are included.

Jaded Soul is the second book in the Deviant Souls Series. We get to meet Jett, one of Domino’s MC brothers and best friends. We got a glimpse of Jett in book one and I loved him even more in this story that focused on him. If you got the hint in the end of Book one that Jett was intrigued with the new diner waitress, Rowan, you would be right!

I usually don’t like when one of the characters is clumsy or does something embarrassing because I get second hand embarrassment with them. It’s usually the woman who is the one embarrassing herself appearing more endearing to the handsome man. However, in this story, Jett is so adorably flustered around Rowan, that he is at a loss for words around her and makes several clumsy blunders. I loved this switch up and laughed out loud multiple times.

Jett is also a big brother and that raised his sister, Fiona, giving insight into his protective nature. You can tell how close he is with his sister and I really enjoyed their conversations and fun bickering. I’m sure Fiona will have her own story by Cameron Hart, so I’ll keep an eye out for that.

When Rowan is threatened by her past and needs help, Jett seamlessly moves into fierce protector mode like every dreamy biker should. This is another instalove read from Cameron Hart that I thoroughly enjoyed. I can’t wait to start Diesel’s story next!

Favorite Quote: “I don’t know how, but I’m going to find out everything about her and lock her previous heart away, keeping it hidden deep within mine. No one will break it ever again.” – Jett

BREW: I made a trip to Trader Joe’s this week and picked up a favorite drink, their Sparkling Black Tea with Peach Juice. It’s refreshing without being overpowering and does not have the artificial taste some flavored waters have in my opinion.

  • Rugged Soul by Cameron Hart – Book 1 of Deviant Souls MC Series

One of my favorite hero tropes in a book is a Motorcycle Club full of tall, muscular bikers who might straddle that line of dangerous yet protective. I also love a good series where you get to follow the same characters through all of the books. I was excited to dive into this series by Cameron Hart and the first book did not disappoint.

We meet Calista who is a young woman who just got her real estate license and is trying to prove to her impressive lady boss mentor that she’s ready. She gets thrown into a new listing and that’s where she meets Domino, the newly elected President of the Deviant Souls Motorcycle Club (MC).

We’re introduced to Jett and Diesel, Domino’s MC brothers and best friends. These three have fun, teasing banter that made me laugh. Jett and Diesel become our heroes in the next books in the series and I can’t wait to see their characters develop and find love.

This was an instalove read that kept me entertained the whole time. I enjoyed the developing relationship of Calista and Domino complete with a few spicy scenes full of details and heat. The storyline can be somewhat predictable after reading a lot of romance books, but I still appreciated these characters and how they overcame the dangers they had to face.

I love Cameron Hart books and you’ll see a lot of reviews for them here. Cameron writes about strong women making their own way like Calista and rugged masculine men like Domino who will do anything to protect the woman they love. Ending my day with a nice happily ever after is just what I need!

Favorite Quote: “You belong right here,” he whispers, pressing my hand against his chest. “Right here with me.”

BREW: While reading this book, I had a herbal Heather tea that my mom brought back from her trip to Edinburgh. I like to add a little honey to my tea for a touch of sweetness to these more earthy flavored teas.
